💛 About Leia — Founder of 2BZEN
................
For more than 22 years, I’ve been helping people move out of pain, calm their nervous system, and reconnect with their whole selves — body, mind, and soul.
My passion for health and healing comes from identifying the true root causes of pain — physical, emotional, and spiritual — helping people understand why they’re hurting and empowering them to take control of their wellbeing.
I began my career in Brazil, graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Centro Universitário IBMR, 2002), and have practised in Brisbane since 2008.
Over the years, I’ve completed extensive post-graduate training, including (but not limited to):
Global Postural Reeducation - by Phillipe Souchard
- Maitland Manual Therapy
- Muscle Energy Techniques
- Neural Mobilisation
- Graded Motor Imagery
- Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS)
- Explain & Explore Pain
- Science-based approaches to nervous system regulation and embodiment in pain education
- Advanced brain training with NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback
- Ongoing study in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy
I’ve also deepened my understanding of trauma, attachment and embodied healing through advanced professional development such as the 2-day workshop “The Body Keeps the Score: Trauma, Attachment and Neuroscience” with Dr Bessel van der Kolk, and in-depth study of the work of Dr Gabor Maté, Dr Stephen Porges, Dr Joe Dispenza, and other pioneers in trauma-informed care, neuroscience, and human potential.
My own life has profoundly shaped the way I work.
I’m a mother to two daughters — one with a rare syndrome and complex health needs — and I’ve faced the enormous decision of divorce, one of the hardest choices I’ve ever made. I don’t regret it, but even after more than two years I’m still integrating and honouring that decision, learning to stand fully in the life I’ve chosen. These experiences mean I never stop doing “the inner work” — observing and managing myself first so I can show up as the best mother, friend, daughter, partner and professional I can be.
Having a child is already a profound gift — but having a child with special needs is an even greater one. It’s a gift of patience, surrender, acceptance and deep allowance; a truly life-changing experience that has shaped how I understand healing, resilience and what it means to support others.
Alongside my clinical expertise, I’ve explored the mind–body–energy connection through studies in yoga (including Arhatic Yoga), Pranic Healing, Reiki, ThetaHealing®, PSYCH-K®, and other energy-based and spiritual modalities.
This diverse toolkit allows me to blend the science of movement with the wisdom of awareness, supporting each person not only physically but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — always respecting where they are on their journey.
At 2BZEN, I offer personalised one-on-one sessions, small group classes, and healing workshops. My role is to hold a safe, supportive space — whether individually or in a group — where awareness, embodiment and transformation can unfold.
I believe deeply that you hold the power to heal; my work is to share knowledge, tools and lived wisdom so you can access that power and find strength — even in life’s most challenging and chaotic seasons.
Based in Sherwood, Brisbane — offering in-person care and telehealth sessions worldwide.

🌸 A Little More About Me
Outside my professional world, I love hot yoga, cooking (often with a glass of good red wine in hand), dancing forró — a vibrant Brazilian music and dance style — and taking long walks with friends along the Gold Coast beaches or the Brisbane River.
I love having fun and truly believe that laughter is one of the best medicines. High energy, movement, and meaningful connections are at the heart of how I live — and how I continue to heal myself while helping others on their own healing journeys.
